Two ways in: register with an email address and a password, or click Continue with Facebook. Register with email — that account holds several Facebook and Instagram profiles, while Facebook sign-in ties the account to one Facebook identity. Registration emails you a six-digit code; entering it verifies the address, signs you in, and starts a trial subscription on the default plan. You finish on the dashboard.

The verification step of the AFP signup form, with six single-character inputs for the emailed code and a resend link below them

  • An email address you can read mail at within ten minutes, because the code expires.
  • A password.
  • A Facebook login, only if you take the Continue with Facebook route.
  1. Open the registration form and enter your full name, email address, and a password.
  2. Submit the form. AFP emails a six-digit code to that address and asks you to enter it. You are not signed in yet, and no subscription exists yet.
  3. Enter the code within ten minutes. A code that does not match is refused with the number of attempts you have left; after five wrong attempts the code stops being accepted and you need a new one.
  4. On a matching code, AFP verifies the address, signs you in, and creates your trial subscription on the default plan.

What if the code does not arrive or stops working?

Section titled “What if the code does not arrive or stops working?”

Ask for a new code on the same screen. AFP allows one code per minute, so a second request inside sixty seconds is refused with a message asking you to wait. The new code replaces the old one, restarts the ten-minute window, and clears the attempts you have used.

A resend request for an address with no unverified account reports success without sending anything. A “code sent” message is therefore not proof that the address is registered — if nothing arrives twice, register the address again.

Email and password is the account type to choose. One account holds several Facebook and Instagram profiles, so pages that live under different Facebook identities end up in one place instead of behind separate logins — see Profiles and master accounts.

Facebook sign-in is faster to start, because consenting on Facebook both creates the account and links the pages that identity administers. Declining consent on Facebook’s screen ends the attempt and creates nothing.

How do I add email and password to a Facebook-only account?

Section titled “How do I add email and password to a Facebook-only account?”

Sign in with Continue with Facebook first, then submit an email address with a password and its confirmation. AFP emails the same kind of six-digit code; entering it links the two and moves your pages, subscription, payment records, referral programme, and keyword lists onto the email account. From then on either route signs you into that one account.

Three things are refused: passwords that do not match each other, an address already verified on another account, and an account that already signs in with an email address.

Ask for a reset with your email address. AFP emails a six-digit code that expires after five minutes, you enter that code, and then you set the new password — which signs you in straight away, with no separate login step.

Reset codes follow the same limits as signup codes: five wrong attempts exhausts a code, and there is a sixty-second wait between requests. A reset request for an address with no verified account reports success without sending anything, so check for typos before assuming the mail was lost.

Onboarding completes once, and the finished state is stored on your account rather than in your browser, so it does not reappear on your next sign-in or on another device.

If your account has a Facebook profile attached, the finished state is recorded for the account and for that profile together, so a later sign-in through either route reads the same status.

You are on the dashboard, signed in, with a trial subscription on the default plan. To confirm the verification stuck, sign out and sign in again with the same email address and password: a verified account signs in with no second code.

If that sign-in is refused, the address is not verified yet. An unverified account and a wrong password are refused the same way, so finish the code step before treating it as a password problem. When no code arrives at all, resend it after sixty seconds.
