AFP vs ManyChat
AFP and ManyChat overlap on one job: turning a comment or a DM on a Facebook or Instagram post into an automatic reply. AFP does only that job — a campaign graph bound to one connected page, with comment moderation actions in the same flow. ManyChat is a broader messaging-marketing product covering more channels. Depth on two channels versus breadth across many is the real difference.
What do the two products both do?
Section titled “What do the two products both do?”Both listen for activity on a connected Facebook or Instagram asset and answer it without a human. Everything below is restricted to that overlap, because it is the only part that can be compared honestly.
ManyChat’s other channels and its email, SMS and paid-ads surfaces have no AFP equivalent, so they are named rather than scored.
ManyChat cells describe ManyChat’s own product, help, and pricing pages as read in August 2026, not behaviour AFP has tested. Where their material does not answer a question, the cell says so instead of guessing.

Choose ManyChat if
Section titled “Choose ManyChat if”- You need to automate a channel outside Facebook and Instagram — TikTok, WhatsApp, Telegram, SMS, or email.
- The automation has to reach beyond messaging — an email, an SMS, or a record created in a CRM. AFP has no customer-facing API to hand a contact to another system.
- You want to send to a whole list rather than answer one person at a time. Broadcasts and sequences have no AFP equivalent.
- You want to start from a gallery of prebuilt flows rather than draw one. AFP starts on an empty canvas.
- Your finance process needs card payment. ManyChat bills monthly by card; AFP invoices are settled in cryptocurrency.
Choose AFP if
Section titled “Choose AFP if”- Your use case is comment-to-DM on Facebook and Instagram, and you want branching keyword logic rather than one canned reply.
- Moderation belongs in the same flow as the reply: hide or delete the comment that triggered the run, and block its author on Facebook.
- You need to see what a specific run did. Each execution keeps the list of nodes it visited, and the canvas replays that path over the graph.
- You want to rehearse a campaign before it touches a real audience. A test execution traverses the graph without calling Facebook or Instagram.
- You also have a backlog of comments already on the page. The cleaner works through them in a batch, which no campaign can do.
What this comparison does not cover
Section titled “What this comparison does not cover”Pricing figures are absent on both sides. AFP plan allowances are per-plan configuration that changes, so they live in the app rather than in these docs — see Plan quotas. ManyChat’s pricing changes often enough that any number written here would be wrong within a quarter.
Nothing here was measured. Delivery rates, Meta’s own messaging windows, and support responsiveness are not compared, because no test was run on either product to compare them with.
The ManyChat column comes from ManyChat’s own product, help, and pricing pages read in August 2026, not from an account AFP holds. A cell that says “not established” means their public material does not answer the question — not that the feature is missing. Chatbot platforms ship monthly, so re-read the vendor’s pages before making a decision on anything here.
